The pre-cursor to a novel - Radical Karma

Radical Karma is coming

This will be my first published novel. I have written one already which is more of a short story as it is only 50,000 words and is unlikely to see the light of day. I wrote that for NaNoWriMo and there is always the chance I might do the necessary rewrites to turn it into something that people could read rather than vomit on. Just don't hold your breath while waiting though, you might just turn a funny shade of blue.

Radical Karma

This book is going to be all about treating people the way you would like to be treated yourself. I can't say more than that for now as I don't want to give away all of the story that is rumbling around in my head. In the future there will be a system in play that will make you want to play nice with anyone you have contact with. Do you think you could live in a society which could carrot and stick you into treating everyone just right and with respect?

For most people in this utopian future it is easy to go with the flow, but there are always those that are different and struggle to live life the way they are told to. The main character is one of these people that is independent of thought and action and wants to push the boundaries. He has begun the process of going fully into the adult expectations of Radical Karma way of life and struggles to come to terms with it. Will he survive RK, will he find a way around it by stumbling upon a loophole? Will he end up having to give in and will that kill his passion for life? How will he and his friends cope with the demands of fitting in to the world as it has become, when you really do have to treat people in a way you would want to be treated yourself. Unless you are impervious to pain and don't care about the consequences.

Tell me about situations you have been in and treated badly

I want to hear from you. Let me know if you have been treated badly and what you think should happen to that person that was a horrible scumbag. Would you go as far as an eye for an eye? Is revenge a reasonable thing to desire and would it make you into a bad person, as bad as the original perpetrator? How can we be sure that the punishment fits the crime?
